We are looking for a leading UI developer to join our team, bringing creative flair and a confident and strategic design approach to our scaling platform. Ticket Tailor is packed full of useful features and supports a huge variety of event organisers around the world; this means it is critical we drive for simplicity, ease of use and consistency, in a way that is also visually appealing for our users and ticket buyers alike. With a small engineering team and an ambitious roadmap, our engineers need to be able to build powerful interfaces easily and independently. This is a unique opportunity to be the driving design force behind a rapidly growing platform used by 30k event organisers all over the world.

About the role
As our senior UI developer you’ll drive the design decisions to make our feature-rich application simple and a joy to use for our customers and ticket buyers, whilst making it easy for our engineers to create powerful interfaces. You’ll help lead the direction of the front end design systems of our applications - designing and building a consistent and scalable UX. You’ll evolve our in-house style guide and frontend javascript libraries. You’ll take ownership of designing and delivering our UIs, assessing the user, product, technical and environmental implications of your changes both in the short-term and the long-term. Our goal is to have a simple, scalable design system that is a delight to use for both developers building new features, and users interacting with the product - and your role is to get us there.
Your main responsibilities will be to:
Design and code our UIs with input from our PMs and developers
Simplify and improve our products' UIs to deliver the impact we want to see
Ensure our dashboard, checkout, check-in app, marketing site and developer api front ends are written cleanly and are accessible, and work across all our users’ platforms and browsers
Develop reusable design systems
Work with our product managers and dev team to identify improvements
Coach and share your knowledge with other members of the team
Helpful skills and experience
Strong understanding of UX theory
Knowledge of UI design tools such as Figma
Prototyping and wireframing
Excellent visual communication skills
Strong understanding of web applications and front end performance
Fluency in HTML/CSS/JS
Pragmatic and incremental approach
Version control (Git)
Comfortable working within templating languages (we use PHP)
A design-led mindset and an obsession with simplicity
An enthusiasm for helping others excel
Thrive in a collaborative environment
